The Florida-Georgia gamehas never meant more than it does this season. Two top ten teams, the SEC Eastlead on the line and of course it's at a neutral site in Jacksonville, Florida. The Bulldogs got the win last year 24-20 after the Gators needed over time in2010. The two teams are a combined 13-1 overall and 10-1 in the SEC. The GatorCoach Will Muschamp played at Georgia and has never gotten a win in thisrivalry as a player and a coach. The AlabamaMississippiState game has never been bigger and it features two of the top ten scoringdefenses in college football. It also has the nations longest winning streak(11-Alabama) vs. the third longest (9-Miss St.). The Crimson Tide are the topranked team in the country while the Bulldogs look for some national respectwhile sitting at number eleven in the BCS. Dan Mullen has lost six in a row totop ten teams. Mississippi State last won in Tuscaloosa in 2006.Georgia vs. Florida in Jacksonville:Georgia looks for its second straight win inthe series for the first time since 198889. The last two games have beendecided by seven points. Florida is led by their stifling defense which heldboth South Carolina and LSU without a touchdown. The Gator rushing attack has16 touchdowns on the season and has at least two in every game. Georgia had sixsacks in last seasons win and will get back Jarvis Jones this week. He has 19career sacks of which 4.5 came against the Gators. The Dogs start fast scoring69 points in the first quarter and 91 in the third quarter. Georgia is even inthe turnover margin while Florida is plus eleven. The Gator pass defense isallowing just 5.17 yards per attempt which is 5th best in thecountry while Aaron Murray averages an SEC best 9.6 per attempt. This gamecomes down to which team can defend the run better, I like Florida in aclassic.Stats: Floridas opponents areconverting just 27 on third down which is 5th best nationally. UFhas allowed just 13 points in the 4th quarter all season has equaledlast seasons total of eight interceptions already. Aaron Murray had career high 30 completionsversus Kentucky. Georgia has scored 21 touchdowns in 27 opportunities in thered zone. Floridas secondary has five interceptions on third down this season.Mississippi State at Alabama:The Crimson Tide has won six of their lastseven match ups against AP top 25 opponents. AJ McCarron has been terrificthrowing 22 touchdowns in his last 10 games. He has a streak of 239 attemptswithout an interception and that will be put to test this week. Kirby Smart'sdefense continue to stifle the run holding opponents to 1.9 per rush and 58yards per game. The Bulldogs play defense too, holding opponents to 14.43points per game which is 9th best in the country. They are number one in thecountry in turnover margin with ball hawking cornerbacks Slay and Banks.Ladarius Perkins leads the Sec in rushing with 724 yards, while averaging just18 attempts per game. I think the Bulldogs are good and will make this a fourquarter game. However Alabama will pull away in the fourth and get the victory.Tyler Russell will be under the gun this weekend against Alabama.Stats: Alabama is 30-31 in the red zone with 23 touchdowns. The Tidedefense leads the country in forcing three and outs while the Bulldogs are 15th.Mississippi State has won 22 out of 23 games when they win the turnover margin.Tyler Russell and AJ McCarron are two of only three QB's that have thrown 15touchdowns or more and one interception or less.Around the leagueOle Miss at Arkansas:Both teams are looking to maintain momentum andwork towards a possible bowl game. Arkansas has outscored its last twoopponents 73-14 and the passing game is the best in the SEC at 311 yards pergame. Tyler Wilson has four 350 yard plus games passing this season which is 2ndmost in the NCAA. The Rebels last won a road game in 2009 at Vanderbilt. BoWallace is coming off his best game with a turnover free win againstAuburn. The match up to watch is the Rebelsrushing offense 211 yards per game 26th in the NCAA against animproving Razorback rush defense, 5th in the league.Kentucky at Missouri:Corbin Berkstresser will get the start atquarterback this week looking to energize a struggling Tigers offense. TheTigers are 106th in total offense (last year 12th) and 99thin rushing offense (last year 9th).I would think the run game will get on track but Kentucky played verywell against Georgia last week. The Wildcats ran for a season high 206 yardslast week against the Dogs. The Tigers were 3-4 last year before winning four offive and going to a bowl game. They look to duplicate that run with their firstSEC win over Kentucky. Joker Phillips did say if Patrick Towles is healthy, hewill play at quarterback this weekend. Marcus Murphy could be the difference hehas 4 returns for touchdowns this season including one against number oneAlabama.Tennessee at South Carolina:This rivalry is the closest in margin of victory inside the SECsince 2000. The average margin of victory has been 9.17 points. The lastvictory for the Volunteers over a ranked opponent is 2009 against SouthCarolina. Plenty of discussion about Justin Worley playing at quarterback thisweek. He started three times last year with his best performance against MiddleTennessee State where he had 291 yards. Steve Spurrier will look to get MarcusLattimore going this week. In the last two games he has 16 carries for 48 yardsand the Gamecocks have two losses. South Carolina has converted only 6-27 onthird downs in those two games. The Volunteer defense has given up 108 plays of10 yards or more which is 12th in the league.UMASS at Vanderbilt:The Commodores look to move to 4-4 on the season and setthemselves up for the stretch run and a possible second bowl bid in a row.Vanderbilt is 2nd in the SEC in pass defense allowing just 142 yardsper game. Zac Stacy is 3rd in the league in rushing after putting up169 yards against Auburn. Stacy isaveraging over six yards per carry on first down.TexasA&M at Auburn:The Aggies are looking to bounce backfrom a disappointing loss at home to LSU. The good news is that Kevin Sumlincoached teams have won nine games in a row on the road and the Aggies are 3-0away from home this season. The defense has held teams to a 28 conversion rateon 3rd down. The Aggie offense has scored first in every game thisseason. Johnny Manziel still averages 379.9 yards per game in total offensewhich is better than 40 teams in the FBS. I have no idea what to expect fromAuburn on offense, but if youre going to play Jonathan Wallace and run somespread attack why not use Kiehl Frazier. Tre Mason has played well lately andleads the team in rushing with 474 yards with 167 coming in the last two games.
