The football season has begun and the 1,100 plus mediamembers have selected a re-match for this years SEC title game. Georgia andLSU are the choices by surprisingly large numbers in their divisions. SouthCarolina and Alabama were somewhat distant seconds and I think the schedule mayhave been the deciding factor for many. Much has been written and said (seeSpurrier) about Georgias schedule and the fact that they dont play the topthree from the West. LSU gets Alabama at home in what many think will beanother epic battle. These are legitimate reasons to make these selections, however I just dont think it will be that easy. Here is how we voted: Team Points LSU 129 Alabama 65 Georgia 14 South Carolina 6 Arkansas 4 Auburn 2 Florida 1 Ole Miss 1 Team Points Georgia (132) 1434 South Carolina (72) 1358 Florida (12) 1045 Missouri (2) 797 Tennessee (4) 718 Vanderbilt 598 Kentucky 266 Team Points LSU (139) 1449 Alabama (72) 1379 Arkansas (6) 1093 Auburn (4) 827 Texas A&M 653 Mississippi State 554 Ole Miss (1) 261 Eastneeds to up the offenseThe Eastwill be better in 2012 simply because the offenses will be better. First MarcusLattimore is back for South Carolina. He may be the best running back in the country.Tennessee has two healthy receivers as well as a healthy and somewhat beefedup Tyler Bray. Florida no longer has Charlie Weis and they will be better onoffense in year two of Muschamps tenure. As a matter of fact only Florida and Kentucky have unproven quarterbacksin the division. While those two schools dont have an established number onelike the other five they do have experience. Just look atthe National Rankings for total offense last year-Georgia 39-SouthCarolina73-Vanderbilt98-Tennessee104-Florida105-Kentucky118New memberMissouri finished 12 competing in the Big 12 last season.
