The SEC has many proven commodities from the Honey Badger toJadevon Clowney. If you look at the offensive side you cannot ignore TylerWilson, Aaron Murray or even Marcus Lattimore as guys who have earned theirstripes in the SEC. This year more stars will emerge with the addition of twoteam and the opportunities offered many new guys. Here is my list of guys youmay be talking more about in November
-Keith Marshall, Running Back Georgia. Well this was anobvious choice now wasnt it? Mike Bobo wants balance and this young back couldget the best chance with the departure of Isaiah Crowell. I do think it will be a committee effort inSeptember, but come late October Marshall could be a household name.-Kobi Hamilton, Wide Receiver Arkansas. He goes from being agreat third option to being a great first option. He is not afraid to work themiddle of the field and with his speed should be a first team receiver thisseason. I know Arkansas will run more with a healthy Knile Davis, but Hamiltonwill step up and I predict he will go north of 50 receptions this season.-Dorial Green-Beckham, Wide Receiver Missouri. He is the topprospect in the country and will play right away. But can he put up seriousnumbers as a freshman in the SEC? I think he can because he can be physical andwith his size he could be an AJ Green type receiver. He will be the number oneheadache for SEC coordinators when Missouri shows up on the schedule.-Ladarius Perkins, Running Back Mississippi State. He hasbeen in the shadow of Vic Ballard and Dan Mullen loves a 200200 attack in therun pass game. However I think the Dogs throw it more in 2012 which will openup more big plays in the run game. Perkins averaged nearly five yards per carrylast season and has more burst than Ballard.-Mike Gillislee, Running Back Florida-Gillislee has been theGators best inside rusher over the last three year and their best short yardageback. For one reason or another he has not been given the opportunity to playmuch in the spread attack. Florida is now a pro style team and this seniorcould have the type of season Fred Taylor finally had in 1997 that made him afirst round pick. -HaSean Clinton Dix, Safety Alabama- Its going to be hardto keep this athletic sophomore off the field. He has all the tools to be the next big time safety for the Tide he justneed reps and to develop his on field football IQ. He will start behind VinnieSunseri, but dont be surprised to see him on the field November 3rdin Baton Rouge.-Kris Frost, Linebacker Auburn-Frost was redshirted lastseason due to injury and now has the chance shine in a more aggressive defenseunder Brian Van Gorder. I would expect him to be a three down outsidelinebacker that can rush the passer. He will begin the season as a starterwhich tells you already how good he can be considering the Tigers were so younglast year and return eight guys.-Tharold Simon, Defensive Back LSU- He is somewhat of a knowcommodity already, but dont be surprised if he doesnt get in the Thorpe Awarddiscussion this year. Hes that good and will line up opposite the HoneyBadger. Simon has great size and experience and could be a first round pickafter a big 2012.
