The Kentucky Wildcats dropped a weekend series to the South Carolina Gamecocks and have lost six games in a row and nine of their last 11. The Wildcats fell five spots to No. 24 in Monday’s USA Today Baseball Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Just three weeks ago Kentucky (24-15, 7-11 SEC) sported a 22-6 record and was ranked ninth in the country. Since the Wildcats have gone 2-9 and been outscored 80-45.

The Wildcats suffered through a similar drop off last season. After starting the season 22-0, Kentucky went 23-18 to finish the 2012 campaign and was eliminated in the NCAA Regional.

The Vanderbilt Commodores (35-6, 16-2 SEC) dropped one spot to No. 4 after dropping a game to the Georgia Bulldogs (15-26, 4-14 SEC) over the weekend. The LSU Tigers (37-4, 15-3 SEC) stayed at No. 2 in the poll after going 2-1 over the weekend in Alabama and beating Grambling State at home. Both Vanderbilt and LSU lost their sole first-place votes in the poll to North Carolina, who has all 31 possible votes.

South Carolina (31-10, 11-7 SEC) dropped two spots to No. 10 while Arkansas (27-15, 11-7 SEC) fell four spots to No. 15.

Ole Miss (29-12, 10-8 SEC) and Mississippi State (32-10, 10-8 SEC) were the only two Southeastern Conference teams to rise in the poll this week. The Rebels moved up two spots to No. 16 and the Bulldogs four spots to No. 12.

The SEC still has seven teams in the poll.
