This season has turned out to be the one of the most memorable so far. There have been some great match ups early in this season and with those we have come to realize who are pretenders as well as those that are contenders.

A pretender is defined as a person who claims or aspires to a title or position. There are a few teams that came into the season aspiring to be great and wanted to become champs of their perspective side.

The beginning of the season has seen Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vandy and Tennessee struggle with the hopes of having a better season to date. Maybe things will change, but for now they are in the pretender arena for the early part of the season.

Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, LSU, Alabama, & Texas A&M throughout the first few weeks of the season have shown they have the skill to be contenders on a weekly basis.

Huge matchups early between top 10 teams have not disappointed the fans from a competition standpoint. The halfway mark of the season is approaching and by the end of the season the pretenders could be the contenders and the contenders could fall by the wayside.

One thing I am sure of is that this league is filled with great teams and the season should end just as it began on a high note, with extremely tough competition.
